“Wirtz Shines For Germany – Why Can’t Liverpool Get The Same Player?”

28 Mar

Liverpool fans are starting to ask serious questions after another standout performance from Florian Wirtz on the international stage.

The German playmaker produced an incredible display with 2 goals and 2 assists, once again showing just how talented he is when playing for his country. Watching performances like that, it’s no surprise fans are beginning to wonder why that same level hasn’t consistently been seen at club level under Arne Slot.

For Liverpool F.C., it raises an uncomfortable question — is this a system issue, a confidence issue, or something deeper?

With Germany national football team, Wirtz looks free, creative and full of confidence. He’s at the centre of everything, picking up the ball in dangerous areas, dictating play and making things happen.

At Liverpool, things have often looked different. At times he has been restricted, asked to play a more structured role, or hasn’t been given the same freedom to express himself. That can make a huge difference for a player whose game is built around creativity and instinct.

It also comes back to how players are used. Some players thrive when given freedom, others fit into rigid systems — and the best managers find a way to get the balance right. Right now, fans are questioning whether Arne Slot is getting the best out of one of the most talented attacking players available to him.

Of course, international football and club football are very different environments. The pace, the tactics and the level of consistency required are not the same. But when the gap in performance looks this big, it’s natural for fans to start asking questions.

Because when you see a player delivering 2 goals and 2 assists at international level, it proves the ability is there.

The question Liverpool fans are now asking is simple — why aren’t we seeing that player every week at Anfield?
