One of the biggest concerns for supporters of Liverpool FC this season is whether head coach Arne Slot is truly getting the best out of the club’s most important attacking player, Mohamed Salah.
For years, Salah has been the heartbeat of Liverpool’s attack, delivering goals, assists and match-winning moments on a consistent basis. But recently there have been growing signs that the Egyptian forward is not being used in the way that maximises his strengths.
Salah’s Most Dangerous Position
At his best, Salah thrives when he is given freedom on the right side of the attack.
From that position he can cut inside onto his stronger left foot, combine with overlapping full-backs and attack defenders one-on-one. It’s the role that allowed him to become one of the most feared forwards in Europe.
However, under Slot there have been times where Salah has appeared isolated or forced into areas where he is less effective.
Rather than receiving the ball quickly in dangerous spaces, Liverpool’s build-up play has often become slow and predictable, leaving Salah surrounded by defenders and unable to create the explosive moments he is famous for.
Lack of Support Around Him
Another issue has been the lack of consistent attacking support around Salah.
When Liverpool were at their best in previous seasons, the system allowed quick transitions and overlapping runs that created space for Salah to attack.
Without that same intensity and movement, defenders can focus far more attention on him, making it far harder for him to influence matches.
Frustration Beginning to Show
Salah has always been a player who demands high standards from himself and his teammates.
Recently, moments of frustration have become more visible during games, often when promising attacks break down or when Liverpool struggle to move the ball quickly enough into dangerous areas.
For a player who has carried Liverpool’s attacking threat for so long, the current situation must feel increasingly difficult.
Liverpool Must Unlock Salah Again
There is no question about Salah’s quality or importance to the team.
The challenge for Slot is finding a way to build a system that allows Liverpool’s most dangerous attacker to play to his strengths once again.
If Liverpool want to compete for the biggest trophies, they need Mohamed Salah performing at his best. And that means ensuring the team’s tactics allow him to be the decisive player he has proven to be throughout his time at Anfield.

Salah has not changed in the throws of Liverpool changes he has lost his pace and cannot seem to go round a full back he just seems to kick it against them he cannot cross a ball he has lost his Mo Jo
Salah has been poor but the tactics aren’t helping because he’s isolated out on the touch line.
