There was an interesting moment after the final whistle at the Etihad as Dominik Szoboszlai appeared frustrated with the travelling Liverpool FC supporters following the heavy defeat to Manchester City.
As the players went over to acknowledge the away fans at full time, Szoboszlai was seen waving and making gestures that suggested he wanted more support from the crowd, appearing to encourage them to raise the noise and get behind the team despite the result.
Frustration On A Difficult Day
It had been a very difficult afternoon for Liverpool, and emotions were clearly running high after the final whistle. Players are always disappointed after a heavy defeat, especially in a big cup game, and Szoboszlai is one of the most passionate players in the squad.
He is known for his energy, leadership and intensity, and it looked like he was frustrated that the atmosphere from the away end had dropped as the game got away from Liverpool.
