Jamie Carragher appeared visibly frustrated after discovering that an overwhelming majority of Liverpool supporters are siding with Mohamed Salah following the Egyptian’s explosive social media comments.
According to fan polling and reactions online, around 94% of Liverpool supporters are backing Salah after his emotional statement criticising the club’s current identity and standards.
And it is fair to say Carragher did not look impressed by the response.
Carragher has repeatedly argued in recent days that while Salah may have legitimate concerns, the timing and public nature of the post created a hugely difficult situation for Arne Slot.
The former Liverpool defender believes Salah’s comments have weakened the manager publicly and increased pressure around the dressing room at the worst possible moment.
But Liverpool fans clearly see things very differently.
For many supporters, Salah simply said out loud what they themselves have been feeling for months.
The football has become passive.
The intensity has disappeared.
The standards have dropped dramatically.
And too many performances this season have looked completely unrecognisable compared to the Liverpool side supporters fell in love with under Jürgen Klopp.
That is why Salah’s message resonated so strongly.
Fans did not see it as betrayal.
They saw it as honesty.
And because Salah has earned legendary status at Liverpool through years of goals, trophies and unforgettable moments, supporters were always likely to trust his judgement over the current leadership.
Carragher’s frustration likely comes from understanding the impossible position Slot now finds himself in.
The manager already appears under pressure following a disastrous campaign.
And once supporters overwhelmingly side with a legendary player over the head coach, authority becomes even harder to maintain.
That is exactly why Carragher has repeatedly warned against situations where Slot appears weak publicly.
But the reaction from supporters also says something bigger about the current atmosphere around Liverpool.
Right now, many fans feel emotionally disconnected from the football being played and deeply frustrated by the direction of the club.
Salah’s comments tapped directly into those emotions.
The fact that several Liverpool players also publicly “liked” Salah’s post only added to the feeling that his concerns are shared more widely inside the club itself.
And with the season nearing its end, the growing divide between supporters and the current regime is becoming impossible to ignore.
Carragher may not like it.
But right now, the vast majority of Liverpool supporters are standing firmly behind Mohamed Salah.

I’m amazed that any one person can say the majority of LFC fans side with Salah over his latest outburst. I can only give my opinion as can most so worldwide.. Have we had a poll. I don’t think so.
For what it’s worth’s agree with Salahs timings. If he has an agenda he should have kept it to himself until after the end of the season. If he has the best interests of the club in mind let the supporters at least have one game to unite and enjoy it.
He may well have spoiled even that now.
Thanks for your opinion
Carragher seems concerned for Slot rather than the club. While it has been apparent for quite some time that Slot should have been sacked as early as January, fans have been worried over FSG’s stand to stick with him next season. Hence the response to Salah’s comments. While the timing may jeopardise the team’s qualifying for the CL, it is felt that the failure to qualify may be a necessary sacrifice if that is what is required to induce FSG to get rid of Slot. Another season with Slot will spell disaster.
