Liverpool Want Alisson to Stay as Doubts Remain Over Mamardashvili

26 May

Fresh reports suggest Liverpool are determined to keep Alisson Becker at the football club this summer despite growing interest from Juventus.

According to Wilson Cox LFC, Liverpool are not yet entirely comfortable with Giorgi Mamardashvili immediately becoming the club’s undisputed No.1 goalkeeper next season.

And honestly, that feeling is completely understandable.

Liverpool internally reportedly still view Alisson as one of the most important players in the squad.

Even after injury setbacks this season, there remains a huge belief inside the club that Liverpool simply look stronger, calmer and more secure whenever the Brazilian plays.

Supporters saw another perfect example of that during the draw against Brentford when Alisson produced yet another world-class save to deny Kevin Schade.

Moments like that are exactly why Liverpool are desperate to keep him.

Juventus, however, are pushing seriously for the goalkeeper.

The Italian giants have reportedly already made an offer to Alisson and are hoping to convince him to make the move this summer.

A final decision from the Brazilian is expected within the next few days.

Despite that interest, the current expectation remains that Alisson will stay at Liverpool next season.

And that will come as a huge relief to many supporters.

Because while Mamardashvili is clearly talented and highly rated, replacing a goalkeeper of Alisson’s level immediately would carry enormous pressure and risk.

Especially during a period where Liverpool already face uncertainty across several areas of the squad.

The reality is simple:

There are very few goalkeepers in world football capable of doing what Alisson does consistently.

He saves Liverpool points constantly.

He rescues poor defensive moments.

And perhaps most importantly, he brings leadership and calmness to a team that has looked emotionally unstable at times this season.

Liverpool also appear aware that this summer may already involve too much change.

Potential exits.

New signings.

Tactical adjustments.

Dressing room uncertainty.

Losing Alisson on top of everything else could completely destabilise the spine of the team.

That is likely why Liverpool are pushing hard to convince him to remain.

Because even if Mamardashvili eventually becomes Liverpool’s future No.1, the club clearly do not yet feel ready to hand him the gloves permanently straight away.

And honestly, after everything supporters watched this season, most fans would probably agree with that decision too.

For now, all signs point toward Alisson staying at Anfield.

And for Liverpool supporters, that may end up being one of the most important victories of the entire summer.
