With reports that Igor Tudor has been sacked by Tottenham Hotspur F.C. today, it has made many Liverpool fans look back at one particular result this season in disbelief.

I don’t like to overreact, but Tudor’s Spurs getting their only point at Anfield might just be one of Liverpool’s worst results in their history.

When you look at the season as a whole, Spurs have struggled badly, results have been poor, performances inconsistent, and now the manager has lost his job. Yet somehow, they came to Anfield and managed to take a point from Liverpool.

Anfield is supposed to be the place where Liverpool dominate teams, especially sides that are struggling or near the bottom end of the table. Those are the games you have to win if you want to compete for titles or have a successful season.

Dropping points at home to a struggling Spurs side who have now sacked their manager really puts that result into perspective. Sometimes you don’t realise how bad a result is until later in the season when you see how poor the other team actually were.

It may sound like an exaggeration, but when you look at Spurs’ season, their results, and now the manager being sacked, that draw at Anfield will go down as a massive missed opportunity and a result that Liverpool really should never have allowed to happen.

Reports from Graeme Bailey suggest that Liverpool F.C. are showing interest in signing Maxence Lacroix from Crystal Palace F.C. this summer.

Uli Hoeneß has sparked debate after comparing the market value of Harry Kane and Alexander Isak when discussing transfer fees in today’s market.

Speaking about Bayern Munich’s decision to spend around €100m on Kane in 2023, Hoeneß said it was a risk at the time, but one that paid off due to Kane’s performances and consistency. He then made a striking comparison when talking about player valuations in the current transfer market.

Hoeneß suggested that if Isak is valued at around €150 million in today’s market, then Harry Kane should be valued even higher, potentially around €250 million, based on his performances, experience and goal record over many years.

Reports from Fussballdaten suggest that Liverpool F.C. are still interested in signing Dutch international Lutsharel Geertruida after missing out on him during the January transfer window.

He can play at right-back, centre-back and even in midfield, which makes him exactly the type of flexible player Slot has liked to use in his systems.

Geertruida would not necessarily be a headline signing, but he would be a very “Slot-type” signing — tactically intelligent, versatile, hard-working and someone who already understands what the manager wants from his players.

If Liverpool are planning a squad rebuild this summer, bringing in players who already know Slot’s system and style of play could be something the club look to do, and Geertruida would fit that idea perfectly.

Reports suggest that Liverpool F.C. could make a move for Antonee Robinson if Andrew Robertson leaves the club this summer.
