Liverpool Players Publicly Back Mohamed Salah’s Powerful Message

17 May

Mohamed Salah’s emotional message about Liverpool needing to rediscover its identity appears to have resonated strongly inside the dressing room as a number of Liverpool players publicly liked the post on social media.

Among those to react were:

  • Dominik Szoboszlai
  • Florian Wirtz
  • Ryan Gravenberch
  • Ibrahima Konaté
  • Andrew Robertson
  • Hugo Ekitike
  • Milos Kerkez
  • Curtis Jones
  • Jeremie Frimpong
  • Wataru Endo
  • Giovanni Leoni
  • Harvey Elliott
  • Stefan Bajčetić
  • Calvin Ramsay
  • Rhys Williams

Salah’s original message was powerful and emotional, calling for Liverpool to return to the “heavy metal” football that once made them feared across Europe.

He also made clear that simply winning occasional games is not enough for a club of Liverpool’s size and standards.

That message clearly struck a chord with a large section of the squad.

Of course, players liking a social media post does not automatically mean dressing-room unrest or disagreement with the manager.

But supporters will inevitably read into the fact so many senior and younger players publicly engaged with a message that many interpreted as criticism of the current direction of the team.

What stands out most is the variety of names involved.

Established first-team players, younger squad members and even players currently away from the starting eleven, all appeared to support Salah’s words.

That suggests his message reflected a feeling shared by many around the club — that Liverpool need to rediscover their identity, intensity and winning mentality quickly.

The reaction online from supporters has been huge.

Many fans now see Salah not just as Liverpool’s biggest star, but as someone openly speaking for the frustrations of the fanbase during one of the club’s most disappointing seasons in recent memory.

And the fact so many players publicly acknowledged his message will only add further intrigue to what already feels like a massive summer ahead for Liverpool FC.
