This story isn’t going away.
Reports are claiming AFC Ajax have already made official contact with Arne Slot about becoming their new manager, and apparently the first talks went really well.
No idea yet how far along anything actually is, but it definitely feels like the rumours around Slot’s future are getting louder.
A few months ago I probably would’ve ignored stories like this.
Now? I’m not so sure.
With how this season’s gone, the performances, the reaction from fans, and all the noise around the club, it suddenly doesn’t feel impossible anymore.
And honestly, Ajax makes sense in a lot of ways.
Back in Holland, closer to his family, familiar surroundings, less pressure than managing Liverpool FC every week.
You can understand why there’d be interest from both sides.
What’s interesting is how many of these stories are starting to appear now.
Usually when there’s this much smoke, people start wondering if there’s something going on behind the scenes.
Especially with only a year left on his deal.
Personally, I still don’t know what’s going to happen this summer.
But if Ajax really are speaking to Slot already and the talks were positive, then Liverpool fans are right to start questioning whether a big change could actually be coming.
