Aston Villa FC reaching the Europa League final has now led to a fixture change for Liverpool FC.
Liverpool’s trip to Villa Park will now be played on Friday May 15 with an 8pm kick-off, live on Sky Sports.
It’s not exactly a huge surprise once Villa reached the final, but it does make an already difficult away game even more interesting.
Villa Park under the lights on a Friday night is never easy, especially with the atmosphere likely to be massive after reaching a European final.
From Liverpool’s side, fans will just hope the team actually turns up properly.
Too many away performances this season have lacked intensity and control, and Villa are exactly the sort of side that punish you if you’re off it.
Fair play to Aston Villa FC as well.
Getting to a European final is a huge achievement and you can tell there’s real momentum around the club at the moment.
Something Liverpool supporters probably wish they were feeling more themselves right now.
At least the Friday night slot should make for a good atmosphere and a proper big-game feel.
Hopefully Liverpool give fans something worth watching this time.
