People are acting like Arne Slot should be bulletproof because he won the title last season.
But football doesn’t really work like that.
Roberto Mancini won Manchester City their first league title in 44 years and was gone the following year.
Claudio Ranieri did the unthinkable with Leicester City and won the league at 5000/1… and was sacked months later.
That’s the level we’re talking about.
So the idea that one title means a manager can’t be questioned just isn’t realistic at this level.
Not at a club like Liverpool.
What matters is what you’re seeing on the pitch now.
And right now, a lot of Liverpool fans are seeing passive football, flat performances and no real sign of improvement.
That’s where the frustration is coming from.
Nobody is trying to erase last season — of course the title matters.
But it doesn’t protect you forever if things start slipping badly afterwards.
And that’s exactly the debate building around Liverpool at the moment.
