Adam Wharton Set to Choose Between Liverpool, Arsenal and Manchester United

26 May

Reports suggest Adam Wharton could be preparing to play his final match for Crystal Palace before making a huge decision over his future this summer.

The England midfielder is reportedly expected to inform one of:

  • Liverpool
  • Manchester United
  • Arsenal

about his next move once the season officially concludes.

And honestly, it is no surprise Europe’s biggest clubs are circling.

Wharton has been one of the standout midfielders in the Premier League since arriving at Palace.

At just 22, he already looks like a player capable of controlling games at the very highest level.

His composure, intelligence and passing range immediately stand out whenever you watch him.

But perhaps most importantly for Liverpool supporters, he also brings something this current midfield badly lacks:

Control.

Liverpool’s midfield has looked far too open and vulnerable this season.

Too easy to bypass.

Too reactive defensively.

And lacking someone capable of dictating the tempo while also sensing danger early.

Wharton fits that profile perfectly.

That is why many Liverpool fans view him as the absolute priority signing this summer.

Not just because he is talented.

But because he genuinely looks like the type of midfielder Liverpool desperately need to rebalance the team properly.

Especially after another season where the partnership between Ryan Gravenberch and Alexis Mac Allister often lacked physicality and defensive awareness.

Of course, Liverpool face serious competition.

Arsenal’s structured style could suit Wharton well.

Manchester United are also desperate for midfield stability.

But Liverpool may still hold one major advantage:

Opportunity.

At Liverpool, Wharton could realistically become the centrepiece of the next midfield rebuild almost immediately.

Supporters are crying out for a controller in midfield.

A player capable of bringing calmness and authority back to the centre of the pitch.

And many fans believe Wharton is exactly that player.

There is also the homegrown factor.

Elite English midfielders are incredibly difficult to find.

Especially ones already Premier League proven at such a young age.

That makes Wharton even more valuable long-term.

Crystal Palace will understandably fight to keep him and would likely demand a massive fee.

But the growing feeling around football is that Wharton is destined for one of the Premier League’s biggest clubs sooner rather than later.

Now the question becomes whether Liverpool can convince him that Anfield is the right place for the next stage of his career.

And after everything supporters watched this season, many fans would argue signing Adam Wharton should be one of the easiest decisions Liverpool make all summer.
