Liverpool’s search for a new winger appears to have taken another twist.
With Paris Saint-Germain continuing to demand an eye-watering £140 million for Bradley Barcola, the Reds have reportedly identified Juventus winger Francisco Conceição as a more affordable alternative.
According to reports from Mirror Football, Liverpool have already made contact with the Portuguese international’s representatives as they continue their search for a long-term replacement for Mohamed Salah.
Barcola Still the Dream Target
There is little doubt that Bradley Barcola remains Liverpool’s preferred option.
The PSG winger possesses many of the qualities Andoni Iraola is believed to be looking for:
● Explosive pace
● Elite dribbling ability
● Direct attacking play
● Creativity in the final third
● Versatility across the front line
However, PSG’s reported valuation of £140 million has forced Liverpool to consider whether pursuing the French international remains financially realistic.
While the Reds have not completely abandoned hope, they are understandably exploring alternatives.
Enter Francisco Conceição
One player now attracting serious attention is Francisco Conceição.
The Juventus winger enjoyed an impressive season in Serie A and continues to build his reputation as one of Portugal’s brightest attacking talents.
According to the report, Liverpool have already opened discussions with his representatives to understand the possibility of a move.
At just 23 years old, Conceição fits Liverpool’s recruitment profile perfectly.
A Much More Realistic Price
Perhaps the biggest attraction is the potential transfer fee.
While PSG are reportedly demanding £140 million for Barcola, Juventus could be persuaded to sell Conceição for around €50 million (£42.6 million).
That represents a huge difference financially.
It would also leave Liverpool with significantly more room to strengthen other areas of the squad before the transfer window closes.
Why Liverpool Like Him
Conceição offers several qualities that would suit Iraola’s football:
