Liverpool remain admirers of Saïd El Mala, but the Reds appear prepared to take a patient approach rather than rushing into a move for the highly rated youngster.
According to David Lynch, while El Mala has caught Liverpool’s attention following his breakthrough campaign with Köln, the club would prefer any young player they pursue to first prove themselves at a “stepping-stone” club before making the jump to Anfield.
It means the 19-year-old could reappear on Liverpool’s radar in the coming years.
