Paris Saint-Germain’s transfer plans could have an important knock-on effect for Liverpool.
According to Fabrizio Romano, PSG remain in direct talks with Ferran Torres’ representatives over a potential move this summer.
However, there is one significant obstacle.
Barcelona do not want to sell Torres, and Romano reports that a transfer would only become possible if the player himself decides he wants to leave.
PSG Planning for Departures
PSG are expected to reshape their attacking options before the transfer window closes.
With Lee Kang-in, Gonçalo Ramos and Ibrahim Mbaye all set to leave, the French champions are actively exploring replacements.
Alongside Ferran Torres, Ajax winger Mika Godts is also understood to be under consideration.
That activity is highly relevant to Liverpool.
What It Means for Liverpool
Liverpool remain strongly linked with Bradley Barcola, who is believed to be Andoni Iraola’s preferred choice to strengthen the Reds’ attack.
If PSG succeed in bringing in another high-profile winger, it could make Barcola’s departure more realistic.
The more attacking reinforcements PSG secure, the easier it becomes for them to consider offers for players already in their squad.
That doesn’t guarantee Liverpool will sign Barcola, but it could improve their chances.

The French international possesses many of the qualities Iraola is thought to be looking for:

If he asks to leave, the transfer market could move quickly.
That, in turn, may influence PSG’s willingness to negotiate over Barcola.
