Liverpool supporters have been waiting for a breakthrough in the club’s pursuit of Bradley Barcola — and according to Lewis Steele, that breakthrough could be coming very soon.
Speaking about the situation, Steele believes a deal could happen this week, with Liverpool expected to make a second bid and both clubs potentially finding a compromise on the transfer fee.
That would be a huge development in what has become one of the most exciting transfer stories of the summer.

Steele’s comments suggest Liverpool aren’t walking away from Barcola.
Instead, the Reds are expected to return with an improved proposal after their initial approach.
The important part is that he believes Liverpool and PSG could meet somewhere in the middle over the valuation.
That is exactly what Liverpool supporters will want to hear.
PSG have reportedly placed a huge valuation on Barcola, while Liverpool have been reluctant to simply pay whatever the French champions demand. Previous reporting has suggested a significant gap between the two clubs, with Liverpool looking to negotiate the price down.
Now it appears there could finally be a route to an agreement.

That’s the part of Steele’s comments that really catches the eye.
If Liverpool’s second bid arrives and PSG are willing to negotiate, we could potentially see this transfer move extremely quickly.
Steele also suggested that all parties want the deal to happen.
That’s hugely important.

This doesn’t sound like a traditional transfer saga
Steele was also keen to point out that he wouldn’t describe it as a saga at this point.
That’s interesting because Liverpool supporters have become accustomed to transfers dragging on for weeks, with endless speculation and conflicting reports.
Instead, his view appears to be that the situation is relatively straightforward:
Liverpool make another offer.
PSG negotiate.
The clubs meet somewhere in the middle.
Barcola moves to Anfield.
Obviously, football transfers don’t always work that neatly, but it certainly sounds encouraging.
Why Liverpool want Barcola so badly
It’s easy to understand Liverpool’s determination.
Barcola would give Andoni Iraola an explosive attacking option capable of beating defenders, carrying the ball at speed and creating chances.
He would also give Liverpool another player capable of playing across the front line.
Imagine the possibilities:
Barcola — Isak — Wirtz
with Gakpo, Ngumoha and Mbaye providing further attacking options.
That is a frightening amount of pace and creativity.
Could this be the week?
We’ve heard plenty of optimism surrounding Barcola before, so Liverpool supporters should still remain patient until the two clubs actually agree a deal.
But Steele’s comments are certainly encouraging.
A second bid.
Potential compromise on the fee.
All parties wanting the move.
And a belief that it could happen this week.
That’s about as positive an update as Liverpool fans could have hoped for.
