Trey Nyoni’s remarkable rise at Liverpool could be about to reach another milestone, with reports suggesting the midfielder is set to be included in England’s squad for the upcoming international break.
According to Guardian Sport, the 19-year-old is in line for an England call-up after catching the eye with his performances for Liverpool.
It would be another huge moment for a youngster who is quickly becoming an increasingly important part of Andoni Iraola’s plans at Anfield.
And if this news is confirmed, Nyoni will have every reason to be proud.
Nyoni is making his mark at Liverpool
There has been plenty of excitement surrounding Nyoni’s development, but what makes his progress particularly encouraging is that he is beginning to earn opportunities in the first team.
Iraola has shown that he is prepared to trust young players when they demonstrate they are ready.

For me, one of the most encouraging things about Nyoni’s development is that Liverpool appear willing to give him a genuine opportunity.
We have spoken plenty about the need for fresh energy and competition in midfield, and Nyoni could become an important part of that.
He shouldn’t be expected to carry Liverpool’s midfield at his age, but he deserves opportunities when his performances justify them.
The competition for places should bring the best out of everyone, including the more established players.
If Nyoni continues improving, there is no reason why he cannot become an increasingly regular option.
A very exciting future ahead
Liverpool supporters have every reason to be excited about Nyoni.
He has already shown glimpses of his ability, and recognition from England would be another indication that his progress is attracting attention beyond Anfield.
The reported call-up still needs to be confirmed when Thomas Tuchel announces his squad, but it would be thoroughly deserved recognition for the youngster.
