AFC Bournemouth beating Fulham has suddenly made things very uncomfortable for Liverpool.
Liverpool are now only four points ahead of Bournemouth with two games left and still have to go to Aston Villa on Friday night.
A few weeks ago nobody was even thinking about the possibility of Liverpool dropping out of the Champions League places.
Now fans are starting to worry.
The problem is Liverpool’s form just isn’t improving.
Every week it feels like the same story — good spells in games followed by the team dropping off and losing control.
That’s why supporters are nervous now.
Meanwhile Bournemouth are full of confidence and picking up results at exactly the right time.
They look hungry.
Liverpool look tense.
The Villa game now feels absolutely huge.
Because if Liverpool slip up there, the pressure before the final game of the season is going to be massive.
And based on recent performances, you can understand why supporters are fearing the worst a bit right now.
Liverpool should still have enough quality to get over the line.
But the way this team is playing at the moment, nothing feels comfortable anymore.
