Liverpool FC go into the break level with Chelsea FC after a frustrating first half at Anfield.
It started brilliantly for Liverpool when Ryan Gravenberch fired the hosts ahead in the 6th minute with an excellent finish after a really bright opening spell from Slot’s side.
For the first 15 or 20 minutes Liverpool looked sharp, aggressive and full of energy.
But gradually Chelsea started taking control of the game and by the end of the half they were probably the better side.
Liverpool struggled to keep hold of the ball, the midfield started getting overrun again and Chelsea looked dangerous every time they attacked.
The equaliser came from a Enzo Fernández free-kick that somehow missed everyone in the box before bouncing in off the back post.
A really poor goal for Liverpool to concede and one that felt avoidable.
There’s still positives for Liverpool going forward though.
Rio Ngumoha has looked lively again and Gravenberch probably had his best 45 minutes in a while.
But defensively Liverpool still look nervous whenever Chelsea move the ball quickly.
Big second half coming up now because after such a strong start, Liverpool will be disappointed not to still be ahead.
