My Liverpool XI vs Chelsea: Time to Drop Gravenberch and Mac Allister

9 May

The predicted Liverpool FC lineup for tomorrow against Chelsea FC is:

Woodman; Jones, Konaté, Van Dijk, Kerkez; Gravenberch, Szoboszlai, Wirtz; Frimpong, Gakpo, Ngumoha.

There’s a few interesting calls in there if that’s the team Arne Slot goes with.

Good to see Rio Ngumoha potentially getting another chance because at least he plays with confidence and actually tries to make things happen.

Personally though, I’d make a few changes.

I’d put Joe Gomez at right-back and move Curtis Jones into midfield alongside Dominik Szoboszlai.

For me, Ryan Gravenberch and Alexis Mac Allister both deserve dropping after some of their recent performances.

I’d also leave Ngumoha out on the left because he gives Liverpool something different.

Then have Cody Gakpo through the middle, Florian Wirtz in the number 10 role and Jeremie Frimpong on the right.

At least that attack looks quick, direct and unpredictable.

Liverpool just need to show a reaction now.

Fans are fed up watching the same slow football and the same players underperform every week.
