There finally looks to be some positive news for Liverpool with Mohamed Salah now extremely close to returning to training.
The feeling is Salah could be back working with the squad on Tuesday or Wednesday ahead of Friday night’s huge game against Aston Villa.
Liverpool have badly missed him.
Not just the goals, but the fear factor and quality he brings every time he plays.
Without him, Liverpool’s attack has often looked flat and predictable.
There’s also the emotional side of it for supporters now.
With Salah expected to leave in the summer and only two games left this season, Liverpool fans desperately want to see him back on the pitch before the end.
Nobody wants his Liverpool career quietly ending on the sidelines through injury.
Even if he isn’t fully ready to start against Villa, just having him back involved around the squad would feel like a huge lift.
Because whatever people think about the team right now, Liverpool still look a completely different side when Salah is playing.
