Exclusive: Djed Spence Tells Tottenham He Wants Liverpool Move as Club-to-Club Talks Continue

6 Aug

Liverpool’s search for reinforcements could be gathering momentum, with reports claiming Djed Spence has informed Tottenham Hotspur that he wants to join the Reds.

According to the latest exclusive update, the 25-year-old has made his intentions clear to Spurs and is eager to complete a move to Anfield.

The report also claims that Liverpool and Tottenham are now in club-to-club discussions, suggesting the transfer could be entering a more serious phase.

A Player Pushing for the Move

One of the most encouraging aspects of the report is Spence’s reported desire to become a Liverpool player.

Transfers often become significantly easier when the player is fully committed to the move, and if the reports are accurate, Spence has already taken that step by informing Tottenham of his wishes.

While that does not guarantee a deal will happen, it gives Liverpool an important advantage in any negotiations.

Why Iraola Likes Him

Spence appears to be a natural fit for Andoni Iraola’s style of football.

The Liverpool head coach demands enormous energy from his wide players and full-backs, asking them to contribute relentlessly in both attack and defence.

Spence’s strengths include:

● Explosive pace

● Powerful ball carrying

● Aggressive defending

● Athleticism

● Ability to play as a full-back or wing-back

Those qualities would suit Liverpool’s high-intensity approach and provide Iraola with another dynamic option on the right side.

Competition for Places

If Spence arrives, he would join a competitive group that already includes Jeremie Frimpong and Conor Bradley.

Rather than viewing that as a problem, Liverpool may see it as essential.

The club will be competing across multiple competitions, and having genuine depth in every position has become increasingly important.

Strong competition for places often raises standards across the squad.

Tottenham Hold the Strong Position

Despite the player’s reported wishes, Tottenham are under no obligation to sell unless Liverpool meet their valuation.

Club-to-club talks may be underway, but there is still plenty of work to do before any agreement can be reached.

The financial aspects of the deal will likely determine whether the transfer progresses.

A Busy End to the Window?

Liverpool continue to be linked with several high-profile targets, particularly in defence and attack.

If Spence joins alongside other reinforcements, it would underline the club’s determination to provide Iraola with the squad depth needed to challenge on multiple fronts this season.

Supporters have been waiting for transfer activity to accelerate, and reports like this suggest Liverpool are becoming increasingly active.

One to Watch Closely

As always during the transfer window, caution is sensible until agreements are officially reached.

However, if the latest reports are accurate, this story has moved beyond simple speculation.

A player who wants Liverpool.

Club-to-club talks underway.

And a manager who values exactly the qualities Spence possesses.

The coming days could reveal whether this develops into one of Liverpool’s most significant signings of the summer.

Any are spurs paying huge amounts for players but selling their own so cheap. It doesn’t make any sense.
Spence is an England international, had a great World Cup but we are seeking for 35mil! Romero probably one of the best centre backs in the world again 35mil, Any other team in today’s market would double that price.
