Fabrizio Romano Makes Liverpool Transfer Prediction: “They Will Definitely Be Active”

19 Aug

Liverpool supporters could be in for an incredibly busy finish to the summer transfer window.

With just days remaining before the deadline, Fabrizio Romano has provided an intriguing update on Liverpool’s plans — and his message is emphatic.

Liverpool are going to be active.

In fact, Romano expects the Reds to be “amongst the busiest clubs in Europe” during the final 10-12 days of the transfer window.

And when you look at the number of stories currently surrounding Liverpool, it’s easy to understand why.

Liverpool aren’t finished yet

Liverpool have already made significant changes to their squad over the past year, but there are still areas that could be strengthened.

The potential departure of Curtis Jones to Inter Milan is one of the biggest developments.

If Jones leaves, Liverpool could need another midfielder to ensure Andoni Iraola has enough depth for a season that will include the Premier League, Champions League and domestic cups.

There have also been reports that Liverpool’s management team want two midfielders and two attackers before the window closes.

Whether they actually sign four players remains to be seen, but Romano’s comments suggest there could be plenty more business ahead.

Barcola remains the big attacking target

One name continues to dominate Liverpool’s transfer rumours:

Bradley Barcola.

Liverpool have been pursuing the PSG winger and have reportedly made a huge offer in an attempt to convince the French champions to sell.

Barcola would provide Liverpool with another explosive attacking option and would give Iraola greater flexibility across the front line.

If Liverpool can finally reach an agreement with PSG, it could become one of the biggest deals of the entire window.

And then there’s Ibrahim Mbaye

Barcola isn’t the only PSG winger Liverpool are interested in.

Ibrahim Mbaye has also been heavily linked with a move to Anfield, with reports suggesting Liverpool have already agreed personal terms with the teenager.

The Reds’ ambition to sign both players would be a huge statement about the direction of the club.

Liverpool wouldn’t simply be adding numbers.

They would be investing heavily in young attacking talent with the potential to become stars for years to come.

But midfield could be just as important

The potential sale of Curtis Jones makes this particularly interesting.

Jones has been part of Liverpool’s first-team squad for years and provides valuable Premier League and Champions League experience.

If Inter complete his signing, Liverpool will have to decide whether their existing midfield options are sufficient.

If they aren’t, the club could be forced into the market for a replacement.

And that could explain why Romano expects so much activity.

The final days could be chaotic

This is when transfer windows tend to explode.

One departure can trigger an incoming transfer.

One failed negotiation can suddenly force a club towards another target.

And Liverpool have several situations developing simultaneously.

Curtis Jones.

Bradley Barcola.

Ibrahim Mbaye.

Potential midfield additions.

Potential departures.

There is still a lot to resolve.

Romano’s prediction is significant

The most interesting part of Romano’s update is that he doesn’t expect Liverpool to simply make one late signing.

He said he expects the Reds to be “amongst the busiest clubs in Europe” over the final 10-12 days.

That should get Liverpool supporters excited.

The club have already shown that they’re willing to be aggressive in the transfer market.

Now we could be about to see another major push before the deadline.

Liverpool’s transfer window isn’t finished.

Far from it.

If Fabrizio Romano’s prediction is correct, the next 10-12 days could be absolutely frantic at Anfield.

And with Barcola, Mbaye and midfield reinforcements all potentially on the agenda, Liverpool supporters have plenty to keep an eye on.

The final chapter of this transfer window could be the most exciting one yet.
