A new era behind the scenes at Liverpool is beginning to take shape.
Soon-to-be Liverpool vice-chairman Amit Bhatia will attend Saturday’s game at Anfield as a guest of John W. Henry, with the principal Liverpool owner also expected to be in attendance.
It will be an interesting moment for Bhatia as he prepares to take on a much more prominent role within the club.

Bhatia’s presence at Anfield is particularly significant given his upcoming role as Liverpool’s vice-chairman.
Rather than watching the Reds from afar, he will be there alongside Henry as Liverpool prepare for another important Premier League fixture.

However, neither Bezos nor Saverin will be at Anfield on Saturday.
That means Bhatia is likely to be the main representative from the new investment group in attendance.
And considering his previous experience in football, particularly his involvement with QPR, Liverpool supporters will naturally be interested in what he can bring to the club.
What does Bhatia’s role mean for Liverpool?
For me, this is something worth keeping an eye on.
Liverpool have always been very different from clubs where owners are constantly in the spotlight.
FSG have generally operated with a long-term approach, with footballing decisions delegated to the club’s hierarchy.
Bhatia’s arrival doesn’t necessarily mean that changes.
But his experience and connections could potentially bring another dimension to Liverpool’s ownership group.
And having someone with a strong understanding of football involved at board level can only be a positive if the right balance is maintained.
Saturday could be an important day
Ultimately, the football will remain the main focus.
Liverpool need to win games.
Iraola needs to get his team performing.
And the supporters want to see the club competing for trophies.
But behind the scenes, Saturday will also provide an interesting glimpse into Liverpool’s future.
