Seven years ago today Liverpool FC gave us one of the greatest nights we’ll probably ever see at Anfield.
Coming back from 3-0 down against FC Barcelona without Salah or Firmino still doesn’t even feel real when you think about it now.
That team just had something special.
The intensity, the belief, the mentality… even when things looked impossible, you still felt like they could do it.
And the atmosphere that night was unbelievable. From the first minute you could feel Barcelona struggling with it.
By the time the fourth goal went in, Anfield had completely exploded.
Looking back now though, it honestly feels like a different world compared to where Liverpool are today.
That Jürgen Klopp side played with confidence and personality. Teams feared us. Even the best sides in Europe hated coming to Anfield.
Now it just feels flat compared to that era.
It’s not even only about trophies either.
It was the connection between the fans, the manager and the players. You genuinely believed that team could beat anyone on their day.
That’s probably what I miss most about it.
When people talk about the Barcelona comeback, they’re not just talking about one result.
They’re talking about a Liverpool team that represented everything supporters loved about the club.
And seven years later, it honestly feels like we’re miles away from that again.
