Honestly, today felt different at Anfield.
The boos when Arne Slot took off Rio Ngumoha weren’t just normal frustration during a game — it felt like supporters finally snapping.
And if I’m being honest, I completely understood it.
Liverpool desperately needed a goal and Ngumoha was the one player actually trying to make something happen.
He was direct, fearless and looked like Liverpool’s biggest threat every time he got the ball.
So taking him off while others who had barely impacted the game stayed on just felt bizarre.
You could hear the anger around the stadium straight away.
But the boos at full-time told the bigger story for me.
That wasn’t just about one substitution.
That was months of frustration coming out.
Watching Liverpool go ahead in games and then retreat.
Watching the same players underperform every week.
Watching a team that just doesn’t look like Liverpool anymore.
What worries me most is the atmosphere around the club right now.
Because once fans start properly turning, things can become toxic very quickly.
And you can already feel the disconnect growing between the supporters and what they’re watching on the pitch.
I know Fenway Sports Group will still point to Slot winning the league in his first season and say he deserves more time.
And maybe he does.
But if performances like this continue into next season, the pressure is going to become unbearable.
Because based on today, a lot of Liverpool fans already look emotionally done with it.
